Easy Plastic Logos
Published in Specific Effects, Basic, Photoshop.
Start with your logo. You will need only the actual logo so remove any white or background space beforehand.

Apply a simple bevel to the logo. The more drastic the bevel, the harder and shinier the plastic will look.

Make a new layer. Hide all layers except the logo and this new layer. Press Control-Shift-E. (This merges the two and rasterizes the Blending Effects). Now go to Image>Adjustments>Curves. Apply a curve like the one below. The jumpy sections will create the plastic highlights.

After you’re done, you can make it look smoother by duplicating the logo layer, and applying a gaussian blur to this new layer. Set the layer on the blend mode “Screen.”

My second example was done with more drastic bevel effects.
